When two people are friends, there are going to be arguments and fights over things. No two people agree on each and every thing between them. Sometimes these differences of opinion can lead to arguments and debates. But does that mean we have to loose our cool over it.

When Things Blow Out Of Proportion
Well we wouldn’t suggest that you bottle up your feelings and keep grumbling inside. But that doesn’t mean that you start shouting and abusing at the top of your voice. If you throw petty insults at your friends or comment on things then definitely your friend is not going to respect your opinion.
It is much better to sit down and talk things out in a rationalized manner. State clearly what you don’t like and what you would prefer instead. Like you can say, “I don’t like you throw your clothes all around and then borrow my shirts without asking. It seems like you don’t have any respect for me. Kindly ask me next time before picking up my shirt. I will appreciate it.” Instead if you say something like, “you are a pathetic pig and always keep the room messy.” So what sounds more decent and what kind of response will you get from these types of talks.
But what if your friend keeps shouting at you at the time. It is natural, that we will also feel an urge to answer back in the same tone. It is best to look your friend in the eye and ask what’s bothering him. Be calm and patient. Your friend will calm down eventually. You can get all the facts and misunderstandings cleared out this way, much easily.
But if you have actually done something to offend your friend, then it is best to accept it and promise not to repeat it. No point in defending yourself on a point that you yourself know that you are wrong.
After the Fight…
Friendship is a very sweet relationship, so don’t bring ego clashes between them. You also must agree to one thing, that the biggest of rows between friends are actually out of nothing. Probably things got heated up when you were tired or just feeling low. So let things cool down and then patch up with your friend. In most of the cases there is a bit of fault from both sides, so it becomes difficult to decide who should make the first move.
If you feel that you said something in the heat of the moment that was not right, then go ahead and apologize for the same. And if your friend comes forward and apologizes first, don’t start criticizing them all over again. Give a warm smile and move ahead.
As good friends you have to come to an understanding that there can be things that you both will differ on and it is best to accept and respect that. It is going to be your ability to adjust with all types of people. How about working out a compromise that suits both of you. Have some simple ground rules and follow them at all times.
